Hotel H10 – not for the late risers

Hotel H10

Hotel H10, Gran Canaria

Hotel H10***** on Gran Canaria (Spain) is a holiday-package-deal delight for the slightly above middle class (very slightly) and offers the visitor the whole shebang: three meals a day, two pools and a spa, three bars, ABBA impersonators in the evening and a bookshelf with bestsellers from the 90s. You know what you are getting – nothing more, nothing less.

Don’t get us wrong, we like this place, it has a certain charm if you are into large spaces and don’t feel overwhelmed by the Grand (as in hockey rink rather than the Vienna Opera).

During high season you need sharp elbows to grab a table at the breakfast buffet but then make sure you hurry out before 8 AM to get a frontline sun bed with a fabulous view of the Atlantic. The evening entertainment will definitely make your children feel at home with all sorts of games and mini discos offered while their parents have this once-in-a-year-chance to get comfortably sloshed at the bar.
